How To Make An Ice Cream Sandwich Cake
Cover a baking sheet or cutting board in parchment paper or foil.
Lay 5 ice cream sandwiches onto the parchment paper, in a row right next to each other.
Spread half of the ice cream over the top of the ice cream sandwiches.
Repeat with additional layers of ice cream sandwiches, 5 ice cream sandwiches, one more ice cream layer, and one final ice cream sandwich layer.
Wrap the top of the pan in plastic wrap and store the cake in the freezer for at least 4 hours.
Carefully remove the cake from the pan and place it on a large plate or cake stand. Spread cool whip over the top.
Drizzle hot fudge sauce over the top of the cool whip.
Crush Oreos with a food processor, blender, or just by hammering them into pieces in a bag, and sprinkle them evenly over the top of the cake.
Place in the freezer for another 30 minutes, or until youre ready to serve it. Slice it up carefully and enjoy.

Easy 4 Ingredient Ice Cream Cake Hack
Heres a 12 layer, no bake ice cream cake hack you need to try! Only 4 ingredients and you can throw it together in 10 minutes!
LORAfied Ice Cream Cake Hack
Ingredients:
1 carton whipped topping, I like @truwhip its a healthier option12 ice cream sandwiches, like @nestleChocolate sauce of choice, I used peanut butter fudge flavor @stonewallkitchenCandies of choice, I used mini @mmschocolate
Directions:
Layer in this order in 8×8 pan: 1/3 of whipped topping, 6 ice cream sandwiches, 1/3 of whipped topping, Heavy drizzling of Chocolate sauce, Candies.
Another layer of 6 ice cream sandwiches, 1/3 of whipped topping, and finish with sprinkling of candies. Freeze until set.

Can I Make This Recipe In Advance
Yes this Oreo cake needs to freeze for at least four hours, but you can easily make this cake a day or two in advance. If making this ice cream sandwich cake further in advance, I recommend covering the container the cake in an airtight container or tightly wrapped plastic wrap. You can add extra chocolate sauce or cookie crumbles after removing from the freeze to decorate.
If the cake has been in the freezer for a while, it can be a good idea to allow the ice cream cake to sit on the counter for at least 15 minutes before you try to slice it.
Easy Ice Cream Sandwich Cake Ingredients
Ice Cream Sandwiches- This recipe uses a total of 6 vanilla sandwiches to build the two layers of this ice cream cake. I use Blue Bunny brand, but you can use any brand you can find in your local grocery store. The only requirement really is that they are rectangular, or your cake will have lots of gaps.
You may even experiment with different flavors you find! You can try Neapolitan, cookies and cream, or even mint!
Cool Whip- Technically you can make your own whipped cream if you prefer, but I say keep it simple! An 8 oz. tub of Cool Whip works perfectly for this Easy Ice Cream Sandwich Cake recipe. It even comes in Extra Creamy, Sugar Free, or Lite varieties if you have a preference!
Oreos- You only need 4 or 5 crushed Oreos for the Oreo layer, but you are of course welcome to add more! There are also lots of fun flavors to experiment with here if are feeling creative. Mint Oreos work great with Mint flavored ice cream sandwiches! Or you can do what I do and use Double Stuffed!

Easy Ice Cream Sandwiches Cake
Some assembly required for this super Easy Ice Cream Sandwiches Cake! A true summertime favorite.
This may be the easiest ice cream cake you will ever make! It takes just four ingredients: ice cream, ice cream sandwiches, sugar cones and chocolate ice cream topping all other garnishes are open to interpretation. I opted for a dash of confetti sprinkles and peanut butter M& Ms, but really you cant go wrong with your favorite candy bars or cookies on top.
Youll need about 10 and 1/2 ice cream sandwiches, so if you pick up a standard box of 12 then youre all set. Then its just a matter of cutting the ice cream sandwiches in half and then lining them up inside a cake pan. Ive documented the process in a video to show you just how easy it is!
Fill the pan.
Line a round cake tin and stack the ice cream sandwiches around the edge of the pan.
After the pan is filled, space the sandwiches evenly.
Fill the center with your choice of ice cream! Cant go wrong with chocolate.
I used an 8-inch round cake pan, but a standard 9-inch pan will also work. The technique for the 9-inch cake is exactly the same but you may need an extra ice cream sandwich to line the cake pan and slightly more ice cream to fill the center.
Add some garnishes!
I think this would make a great summer-time birthday cake just add candles!

Recipe Variations For Ice Cream Cake With Ice Cream Sandwiches
- Neapolitan Ice Cream Sandwich Cake: Use Neapolitan ice cream sandwiches for a combination of chocolate, strawberry and vanilla ice cream in your cake. You can garnish the cake with sliced fresh strawberries just before serving and sprinkle with chocolate chips. A drizzle of strawberry syrup would also be a good swap for the caramel.
- Magic Shell: instead of the chocolate syrup, drizzle the top of the cake with Magic Shell topping.
- Oreo Ice Cream Sandwich Cake: instead of the M& Ms, make the ice cream cake with ice cream sandwiches and a layer of coarsely crushed Oreo cookies . You can also use Cookies and Cream flavored ice cream sandwiches or chocolate ice cream sandwiches.
- Birthday Cake Ice Cream Sandwich Cake: put a birthday spin on this fun dessert! You can purchase Blue Bunny Birthday Cake Ice Cream Sandwiches at many grocery stores and Super Target stores. Use rainbow sprinkles as a fun topping, too.

How To Make Cookies And Cream Ice Cream Cake
- Unwrap and place 12 ice cream sandwiches into the bottom of a 9×13 pan for an ice cream layer. Slice any ice cream sandwiches necessary with a knife to fit all ice cream sandwiches in a flat layer in the bottom of the pan.
- Spread half of the cool whip mixture over the ice cream sandwiches with a rubber spatula or butter knife.
- Drizzle ¼ cup of the chocolate sauce over the top of the whipped cream layer.
- Sprinkle half of the crushed Oreos on top as the next layer.
- Repeat the same layers again. First a second layer of ice cream sandwiches, then a second layer of whipped topping, then topped with 1/4 cup of chocolate sauce drizzled on top. Top with extra crushed Oreo cookies if desired.
- Cover the dish and place into the freezer for at least 3-4 hours. Then slice to serve, enjoy!

- Remove the chocolate ice cream from the freezer to soften for about 15 to 20 minutes.
- Lay out some parchment paper or foil on a baking sheet or cutting board.
- Lay 5 ice cream sandwiches together on the sheet.
- Spread half the ice cream evenly over the top of the ice cream sandwiches. Let it freeze for about 20 minutes if the ice cream is getting too melted.
- Lay another layer of 5 ice cream sandwiches, followed by the remaining ice cream, and the final layer of ice cream sandwiches.
- Cover the pan in plastic wrap and freeze for at least 2 to 4 hours, up to overnight.

Switch It Up With These Variations
- You can use any ice cream sandwich flavor you like. Ive tried ones with chocolate ice cream, vanilla ice cream, and Neapolitan ice cream all three are fantastic.
- If you like Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches or other round ones, youll need a few more sandwiches.
- Feel free to use your favorite Cool Whip all of them will work!
- For the cookies, use your favorite Oreos or use any cookie that you can crush.
- For the sauces, feel free to use caramel saucein place of the chocolate or do a combo of both.
- You can also add your favorite chopped candy and/or chopped nuts chopped peanut butter cups, candy bars, walnuts, peanuts, and almonds would all work great. Moral of the story?

Easy Ice Cream Sandwich Cake
My sons birthday is at the end of July and every year on his birthday it seems like were on vacation in a location where a birthday cake is hard to make.
On his first birthday, we were literally camping in the middle of nowhere so we made him a pyramid cake out of Twinkies.
I know its not rocket scienceand not actually baking, but it sure makes the kids ooh and ahh. They dont care if it takes minutes or hours to make. And since its the last day of National Ice Cream Month, here is this simple dessert.
Layer your ice cream sandwiches and a thick layer of whipped topping. From here you can sprinkle on any candy bars, Oreo cookies, or chocolate you like. My son wanted M& Ms but if it were my choice I would sprinkle some chopped Reeses peanut butter cups.
I like to drizzle some fudge topping / chocolate syrup in between layers too but you could also use caramel sauce.
You could use Neapolitan ice cream sandwiches or chocolate ice cream sandwiches.

This easy Ice Cream Cake is a simple no-bake dessert with layers of ice cream sandwiches, whipped topping, M& Ms, and chocolate sauce. The best part is you can personalize it however you want with crushed Oreos, graham crackers, Reese’s pieces, magic shell topping, or rainbow sprinkles. An easy dessert on a hot day!
How To Make An Ice Cream Sandwich Cake:
Line the bottom of a 9×13 baking pan with dish 12 ice cream sandwiches. You will have to cut some in half to make all of them fit. Press down firmly but gently. All of your sandwiches should be touching.
Start adding dollops of ice cream on top of the first layer of ice cream sandwiches. From there, spread out evenly .
Next add your second layer of ice cream sandwiches. Remember you may have to cut some sandwiches for all of them to fit, flushed together. Press down firmly yet gently to pack tightly.
In a medium mixing bowl combine the cream cheese and whipped topping. Beat together until fully combined to create the icing.
Spread the icing evenly over the top of the ice cream sandwiches.
Top with sprinkles. Place in the freezer and freeze for at least two hours before serving.
Slice, serve and enjoy!
