The first time I tried Erin McKennas vegan bakery in Los Angeles, I ordered four of their donuts to taste test. It was my first time there and I wanted to experience as much of what they had to offer as possible. The donuts are more like spongecakes than traditional donuts light and airy, but a little more dense than you might expect.
Donut Flavors
There is a variety of donut flavors to choose from and all four flavors I tried were delicious! The donuts are sweet, but not sweet enough to overpower the more subtle, underlying notes. The four donuts we opted for were: powdered blueberry, cinnamon sugar, pumpkin , and chocolate dip . Powdered blueberry and pumpkin were my favorites, but I would choose them all again!
PSA: Everything at Erin McKennas Bakery is EXPENSIVE. Each donut was around $5 . Especially when you can go to Magees Donuts and get 6 for $5. But, if you have dietary restrictions or just want to put healthy ingredients in your body, Erin McKennas vegan and gluten free bakery is definitely worth it. They dont taste even remotely like cardboard and they do a great job of replicating the real deal. Plus they get bonus points for not making you feel like sh*t after you eat them too woohoo!
