How to Make Dutch Oven Cobbler (Peaches, Cake Mix, Sprite & Butter)

To make peach cobbler, prepare your dutch oven as you normally would.

Prepare 24-30 charcoal briquettes according to package directions.

Meanwhile, pour the peaches and juice on the bottom of your dutch oven. Sprinkle cinnamon on top of the peaches. At this point, you can also add some brown sugar, but we usually leave it out since it’s plenty sweet. If you decide to add brown sugar, just sprinkle a thin layer across the peaches.

Next, take the dry yellow cake mix and sprinkle it evenly on top of the peaches. Pour the soda on top. Add just enough so that the cake mix becomes crumbly.

Place ¼”-thick pieces of real butter on top of the cake mix.

Put the dutch oven lid on and set the dutch oven on top of 8-10 hot briquettes. Finally, place the additional 16-20 briquettes on top of the lid.
