  • Furthermore, the moisture from the frozen cake will most likely cause the chocolate pop to become wet, resulting in the ruined appearance of your exquisite pop.
  • After the cake pops have been dipped, avoid storing them in the freezer and instead keep them in the refrigerator or at room temperature.

Tweak Batter For Cake Pops

  • Lisa, please accept my heartfelt greetings.
  • I recently purchased a cake pop maker, and several of the recipes in their handbook recommend using a 9 oz.
  • Is this correct?

Ive been able to get a yellow mix and a vanilla mix, both manufactured by Jiffy, but have been unable to locate a white mix.In response to my email inquiry, a representative from the cake pop company stated that a standard cake mix would be sufficient. All of the standard cake mixes that I can get in my area are substantially larger than 9 oz.A member of the family had also attempted to bake a conventional cake mix in this machine, which had ended in tragedy.According to what I understand from the recipe book, anytime a cake mix is used, it must be strengthened with additional components.

Do you have any recommendations?J.Ayers is a writer and poet.Greetings, J: It is necessary for the batter to be thicker or heavier in consistency when manufacturing cake pops as opposed to the batter that is created following the cake mix instructions. It is possible to modify any cake mix for usage with a cake pop machine by making a few minor alterations.

This recipe makes approximately 9 dozen cake pops.A longtime Bryan food and nutrition educator, Lisa Fritz, addresses readers food and cooking-related inquiries as well as provides recipe suggestions. It is if you want to contact her.Get the latest local news sent directly to your inbox!

What Are Cake Pops

A cake pop is a cake ball on a stick to resemble a lollipop. Though cake pops existed before the coffee chain’s version, the bite-sized dessert experienced a surge in popularity after Starbucks added them to its menu in 2011.

Cake pops can be served plain, but they are more often coated with colorful sprinkles or embellished with icing.

    Easy Cake Pops

Looking for a fancy way to amp up your cake? Or do you have too much leftover cake? Look no further, for your solution can be found with these delicious cake pops! Soft and flavourful, these cake pops are so easy and fun to make.

Cake pops are cake pieces or scraps that are gelled together with a cream or frosting. Then, set the cake pops to cool before coating with chocolate. Finally, you can decorate it like how your inner child would like it! I went with the classics consisting of rainbow sprinkles, toasted almond nuts, hearts and plain ol chocolate!

Furthermore, you can flavour it up depending on what kind of cake and cream you use. For instance, coffee cake mixed with chocolate buttercream may give you a mocha-inspired cake pop. Another example could be a cream cheese frosting with carrot cake that will allow you to spice up your presentation of the classic carrot cake.

A tricky part for these easy cake pops would be the frosting to cake ratio. I am using a 1 : 6 ratio in terms of grams (e.g. 100g frosting to 500 to 600g cake. However, this really depends on the moistness / dryness of your cake. As such, I recommend trying out 50g frosting to 300g of cake to adjust as you go. Nonetheless, I have placed my cake and cream frosting for your reference!

    Without further ado, the recipe.

    • Pour the batter into a cake pop mold and set it aside until it hardens.

Tips For Making Perfect Cake Pops

    • Make the cake balls smooth. For a smooth cake pop you need to roll the cake balls very smooth. I like to roll them the first time and then give them a quick roll in my hands again after they have cooled in the fridge.
    • Easy cake ball dipping. Melt the chocolate in a small glass to dip the pops in, I find a 2 cup measuring cup to be the best way to do the dipping and not make a huge mess.
    • Make them all the same size. You can use a cookie scoop to get them all the same size.
    • Keep tthe cake ball on the stick. Make sure the cake pop stays on the lolipop stick by dipping it into the melted candy coating and then placing the cake pop on the stick.
    • Use quality candy melts. You will have a much easier time melting them and dipping the cake balls with a quality candy melt or dipping chocolate.
