Peach cobbler should be reheated because its so delicious warm! Though eating cold is not unheard of in our house! To reheat it in the oven, bake it at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Place foil loosely over the top if it starts getting too brown.

If Im just warming up one serving for me, I zap it in the microwave for 30 seconds. You wont get the same crispiness on the topping, but it gets the cobbler to your mouth in a jiffy!

Can You Substitute Self Rising Flour With All Purpose In This Easy Cobbler Recipe

You can make this easy peach cobbler without self rising flour too.

Using self rising flour makes the process more easier, but if you do not have self rising flour, you can use ¾ cup of all purpose flour & one teaspoon baking powder to substitute ¾ cup self rising flour.

Make sure to mix the all purpose flour and baking powder very well so that they are evenly blended.

Let Cool Slightly And Serve Warm

Once the cake mix peach cobbler comes out of the oven, let it cool for at least 10 minutes at room temperature. The fruit on the bottom will be bubbling and pipping hot, and the juices from the fruit will bake perfectly with the crumb topping.

What’s A Fresh Peach Dump Cake

If you haven’t heard of this, a dump cake is simply a cake that you make by dumping a few ingredients into one pan and baking it. Easy, right?

The original recipe uses a large can of diced peaches, but for this fresh peach dump cake, I use fresh peaches especially if they are in season. I did add a little sugar and water to mimic the syrup from the can so that there is enough liquid for the cake mix to absorb.

You need enough peaches to cover the bottom of the pan. This is a standard 9 x 13 glass baking pan.

Then layer your cake mix and butter slices. That looks like a lot of butter, huh. Just remember you are not adding any oil or eggs to the recipe.

Ok, it’s a little boring looking at face value which is why you will want to serve it with whip cream and a peach slice.

It’s nice and dense, and the ripe peaches add a great fresh and tart flavor that works really well with the cake.

I love this fresh peach dump cake. It’s perfect for vacation because you don’t need any fancy equipment and very few ingredients. Plus it makes a good 18 – 24 servings. Just the right amount for our large family.

Easy Peach Cobbler With Cake Mix

Cake Mix Fresh Peach Cobbler
This is a quick but company-worthy cobbler. So simple, yet wins rave reviews. If desired, use 2 cans of peaches in place of fresh peaches. If doing this, use peach syrup instead of water and then omit the white sugar from recipe. Also, yellow cake mix can be substituted for the white.

12 fresh peaches, pitted and sliced
1 cup water
1 package white cake mix
1 package cream cheese
½ cup butter


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F .
  • Spread peach slices evenly into a 9×13 inch baking dish. If using canned peach juice, pour 1 cup of it over peach slices. If using fresh peaches, combine water and sugar in a small bowl. Stir to dissolve, then pour mixture over peaches.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon over peach slices, followed by dry cake mix. Top cake mix with pats of cream cheese. Dot cobbler with butter or margarine.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, until golden.

I dont recommend this method. Not only does the mix not bake evenly, but you also tend to have dry, powdery clumps of mix in the cobbler, which isnt ideal.

However this delicious dish doesnt have to be served straight from the oven and can be easily transported to a dinner party, a picnic, or a potluck, just make sure that you bring the recipe to sharebecause I promise that you will be asked!

If there happen to be leftovers they can be stored covered, in the fridge for 4-5 days.

To reheat in the oven, allow it to come almost to room temperature. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 20 minutes or until heated through. Cover with aluminum foil if it starts to brown too much.

Preheat oven to 350 F. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
