Can I Use A Different Sweetener

Besti Monk Fruit Allulose Blend is the closest thing to sugar Ive found , and in particular, it makes the moistest cake. Ive made this cake with other sweeteners in the past and its not as moist.

But, if you need other options, you can use a granulated sweetener for the cake and a powdered sweetener for the frosting . The amounts you need will vary depending on the sweetener, so check my keto sweetener guide for conversions.

How To Bake A Perfect Gluten

Mixing

There are two important steps to this recipe: how you cream the butter, shortening, and sugar and how you add the dry and wet ingredients.

Lets talk about creaming the butter, shortening and sugar. Combine the three ingredients in the bowl of a stand mixer. Then you beat the ingredients for five minutes. How serious am I about five minutes? Very serious. In fact, Id love it if you used a timer.

During this time, the mixture goes from a thick paste to a light, white and fluffy mixture. Since a thin layer of butter and shortening always clings to the side and bottom of the bowl, stop the mixer at least once during the five minutes and scrape the bowl.

I know this step seems long and putzy but, trust me, its worth it. #dontskipitplease

After beating the butter, shortening, and sugar, add the egg whites one at a time. Again, dont rush this. If mixed correctly, the batter should look like fluffy frostingwhich is what weve basically made here.

Up next, the flour, sour cream, and milk. Add 1/3 of the flour and allow it to mix into the batter. Then add the sour cream. Let it mix into the batter. Once youve added the sour cream, alternate between adding the milk and the remaining flour.

Is this putzy? Yes! It is! But its worth it.

Baking

Bake the cakes in a preheated oven until a cake tester inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. A few damp crumbs might stick to the cake tester or toothpick but you shouldnt see any wet batter.

Why I Love Monk Fruit Sweetener

Bernard Gluten

Ive been experimenting with all natural, sugar free sweeteners for several years now and Ive learned to love them. I say learned to love them because they are definitely different from real sugar. But they can be quite nice once youre used to them. I created this pretty Sugar Free Gluten Free Chocolate Strawberry Cake recipe especially for a brand called Lakanto. They make a variety of sweeteners using Monk fruit and they taste very good.

These are the Lakanto products that I used for this recipe. And I have a special offer to share with my readers 20% off if you click this link to make your purchase. Then enter this code MOMLOVESBAKING to get your 20% discount.

Why This Cake Is Called A Diabetic Cake

This amazing Diabetic Cake Recipe is super easy to make, uses regular ingredients and everybody will love it.I can imagine adjusting your diet must be hard since everything has so much ADDED sugar! including things one may not think of, for instance: sauce, bread, yogurt , BBQ Sauce, dried fruits, etc. And sometimes its difficult to give up desserts after your last meal for the day. When everyone is enjoying with different varieties of desserts.I used stevia for sweetness which is a great sugar substitute for the sponge cake part. You can also use Splenda baking blend or any of the usual sugar replacements you are used to cooking with.

You adjust the sweetness accordingly, for this recipe I used 3 tsp sweetener, taste the batter before baking and if required you can add more, but add little at once.

Instead of regular flour, I used ragi or finger Millet flour to make it diabetic friendly.

The Key To Low Carb Keto Flourless Chocolate Cake

You may think that gluten-free flourless chocolate cake is already naturally low carb, but it isnt. Even though there is no wheat, the sugar is a big problem!

Most flourless chocolate cake recipes dont actually add sugar, but they do use regular chocolate in them sweetened with sugar, of course. So even if you can make a gluten-free flourless chocolate cake with regular chocolate, it can still be very high in sugar.

So, whats the key to keto flourless chocolate cake? Sugar-free chocolate!

Ive tried making this flourless chocolate cake with cocoa powder or unsweetened bakers chocolate, but the results were inconsistent. Sometimes it turned out great, and sometimes the chocolate would seize or the texture was dry. So I made it again and again until I reached a better version!

Finally, I settled on sugar-free stevia sweetened chocolate, which is one of the few stevia products where I cant taste that aftertaste at all. Promise.

And this is why I consider this the best flourless chocolate cake ever. No sugar, and its still natural. I used powdered monk fruit allulose blend to add a bit more sweetness to offset the butter were adding, but you get to decide which sweetener you want to use for that part. And yes, if all you care about is gluten-free, you can even use actual powdered sugar.

But for those of us that want a healthier, low carb flourless chocolate cake, there are better options.

To make this, all you have to do is add eggs, oil, water, and a little bit of vanilla extract, and then youre good to go. The finished product tastes delicious, bakes with a beautiful crumb, and holds up well to substitutions, like flax eggs in place of real eggs.
