Some prefer the look of the modern diaper cake without having to roll up the diapers. While both styles look lovely this one seems little faster to make and the new mom does not have to unroll all the diapers either :).

The downside is that you will need cake pans to make this cake. But if you already have a collection of various size cake pans then it is no big deal.

    What Is A Diaper Cake

How to make a Diaper Cake | Diaper Cake Tutorial | Baby Shower Ideas

A diaper cake is a cake-shaped structure that’s built out of diapers and covered in decorations like flowers or stuffed animals. It usually has two or three tiers of rolled diapers that are wrapped in ribbon to resemble icing on a cake.

You can customize the design of your diaper cake to align with the baby shower theme. Although a straightforward cake is the shape you see most often, many baby shower hosts make diaper cakes that look like cars, motorcycles and even animals .

    Add The Finishing Touches

Finish the diaper cake off with the topper of your choice. A stuffed animal, like a teddy bear, is always a great standby, but you could also opt for something that coordinates with the theme of the shower or the baby’s nursery.

For example, a stuffed monkey would be a great topper if the baby’s nursery will be jungle-themed, or a stack of board books is perfect if the parents have requested shower guests help build baby’s reading library.

    How About A Diaper Bouquet

If youre feeling especially ambitious, you could also try a diaper bouquet. Each bouquet would only have as many diapers as you feel like rolling up. Option: Make a bunch of mini bouquets for the tables at a baby shower. And, of course, if you want to be slightly more unique or want something more colorful, dont be limited by diapers. You can also roll baby washcloths, socks and bibs and use those to make flowers for your bouquets, too.

Nappy Cake For Boys: Playful Pastel Blue Tones

If you know that the new baby is a boy, you can decorate your diaper cake with pastel shades of blue. Use both plain and subtly patterned ribbon and bows in light blue. Dark blue ribbons can also be used to create some contrast. This will make the diaper cake look a little more playful.

With this version of the DIY nappy cake, you can cover individual diapers with little blue socks. Spotted socks will look especially cute. Neutral coloured bodysuits and bibs or flannel cloths can be hidden inside the cake. Care products in small blue bottles, a matching dummy, and a dummy chain in matching shades of blue along with a small stuffed animal will top off the decorations nicely. Of course, a diaper cake topper will add that final touch. Either personalised flags showing the babys name or a cute little baby bottle would be perfect for this.

You can find all the boys baby items to decorate your nappy cake in our online shop or one of our stores.

How To Make A Diaper Cake Step By Step Tutorial

I recently threw a baby shower for a dear friend, and I decided to make a diaper cake. This was my first time making a diaper cake so there was some trial and error on my part, but its pretty easy to make and can be made in under an hour. So today Im sharing how I made mine, step by step.

I didnt want my diaper cake to look super babyish, so instead of adding baby lotion, baby wash, receiving blankets, stuffed animals, etc. I kept the cake decorations simple with some ribbon. Going this route also kept the cost down. And since we were celebrating a baby boy, I went with blue and white ribbon, but you can use any color of ribbon to best fit the shower theme.

How To Deal With A Base For Your Diaper Cake

    Simple DIY Diaper Cake Tutorial

Every cake needs a good base, even ones made out of diapers.

In this case, a sturdy, flat base that doesnt bend is crucial. You dont want the base to buckle or collapse under the tiers of diapers. Think of things like a large serving platter, an aluminum pan, a pizza pan, or even a thick plastic cutting board for the base.

Fortunately, you can find most of these items lying around your house. But in the event that you do have to venture out to a shop, most of these items can be purchased at a dollar store. Be on the lookout for a sturdy serving platter that doesnt bend or a low cost cake stand like this one.

Now Let Me Show You How To Gift Your Pampers Diapers In Style By Creating A Diy Diaper Cake With A Sweet Rustic Theme And A Unique Topper

    Materials:

    Directions:

To begin, start fanning the Pampers along the perimeter of one of the cake pans as shown above. I spaced mine about 2″ apart to create a ruffled effect.

Continue until you’ve circled around the entire perimeter of the cake pan and then tuck the final diaper behind the first one.

Then, add another layer of diapers inside the first row in the same way. Continue adding layers inside the pan until you have nothing but a small circle of space left in the center.

Next, insert the recycled wrapping paper tube into the center of your layers and cut the top of it off so that it’s about 3 times as high as your first “cake” layer. Take an elastic band and carefully wrap it around this layer to hold everything together.

Remove it from the pan and set this first diaper cake layer aside, and then make two more layers for your diaper cake using this method with the remaining two sizes of cake pans.

Once you’ve made all three layers, set the largest layer down and place the wrapping paper roll in its center. Then, use the roll as an anchor and place your middle sized layer and then your smallest layer on top of the bottom diaper cake layer. Your diaper cake base is complete, and now comes the fun part – decorating!

First, wrap some wide ribbon around the center of each layer as shown above to add some interest and hide the elastic bands. Secure the ribbon at the back of the diaper cake with small safety pins.

How To Make 2 Tier Mini Diaper Cakes

For a two tier diaper cake you need ~28 diapers per cake. First, youll need to roll your diapers and secure with a clear rubber band. After, youll cut out a cardboard circle or use a small decorative plate, and you will want to hot glue a toilet paper roll to the center. You then need to align 20 diapers in a circle and secure with clear tape. Now its time to insert a diaper into the toilet paper roll, so its stable and even height with the remaining 6 diapers you arrange in a circle around the middle one. Secure those with clear tape, and you are ready to add ribbon and embellishments!

Diy Purple And White Diaper Cake

I have this sixth sense where I can always tell when someone is pregnant often before they even know themselves!

Ive started not mentioning it to people after a couple times of knowing before the mom, but I sometimes make the mistake of mentioning it to my daughter who isnt as good at keeping her lips sealed!

Recently, we had a visit with a close friend of mine who my daughter refers to as Aunt Lisa. I knew immediately that she was pregnant and waited until the car ride home to say anything to Ella.

The next day, Ella called Aunt Lisa and got straight to the point asking point blank if she was pregnant and we got a confused no!

But by our next visit? Aunt Lisa knew what I had known for awhile that baby #2 was on the way!

Since this is a second baby, there will be no baby shower, but Ella and I wanted to do something super fun and special to celebrate Aunt Lisa, so we stopped at Target on the way home and picked up some supplies to make a DIY Diaper Cake.

Square Diaper Cake (How To Make)

Published: · Modified: Nov 8, 2020 by Christina Dennis · This post may contain affiliate links · This blog generates income via ads ·

One of my most favourite baby shower gifts was a beautifully handmade diaper cake from my husband’s aunt. Not only was it practical – a mama can never have too many diapers! – but it was also thoughtful and made with love. It was actually one of the things that inspired me to start this blog! Today I’m partnering with Pampers to share with you how to make a beautiful, rustic looking diaper cake gift for the next baby shower you attend. My method doesn’t involve any diaper rolling, and I’ve added a unique topper that I think takes this gift to an adorable level.

Take it from a mama of three girls – a mom can only have so many frilly outfits and blankets for her baby, but she can never have too many diapers! I always appreciated getting diapers as baby gifts when my girls were newly born, and now that three of my good friends have had babies this month, I’m excited to gift them some diapers, too.

For this DIY gift, I’m using Pampers. We used these on my girls, and just the scent and softness of Pampers gets me all teary and brings me back to when my babies were just little. Pampers is the 1st choice of moms in Canada, and Pampers cares for every baby’s happy and healthy development. You can find a whole range of diapers, wipes and training pants from Pampers to provide comfort and protection for all the stages of baby’s little life.
