Wedding Cakes | The Cake Boss

Future brides might be intimidated by stories of a $30 million cake created by Valastro. However, that is not necessary. There are many more reasonably priced options available. While the average wedding cake from Cake Boss might be around $5,000, they really can range in price from $100 for a simple sheet cake, up to several thousand dollars for a custom design with pyrotechnics or moving parts.

Consultations for a wedding cake design ought to take place as far in advance as possible. Brides may want to pick up their own cake if it is small and does not require multiple layers or excessive design elements. However, wedding planners always assume that delivery is part of the wedding cake costs. Leaving that job to the experts is a good choice.

Cake boss wedding cake designs are no less than impressive. We recommend browsing through the selection they offer, then book a consultation to put the finishing touches on the desired cake. Alternatively, you can just purchase a cake on their website, like the Stacked Presents one for $300.

The Cake Boss Everyones Buddy

For New York Times best-selling author Buddy Valastro, mixing eggs, sugar, butter and flour means a lot more than making a cake. As a fourth generation baker, its a constant source of pleasure, pride and creativity. Creating amazing cakes connects Buddy with the memory of his father Buddy Sr. and his extended Italian family history.

His talent and passion for the family business, Carlos Bakery, has earned the straight-talking cake expert the moniker, and TLC TV show, Cake Boss. In December 2010, TLC premiered the spin-off series, Cake Boss: Next Great Baker, where Buddy challenged bakers from around the country to compete for a chance to work alongside the Valastro family at Carlos. This past August, Cake Boss: Next Great Baker crowned its fourth season winner. December 2013, TLC launched Buddys Bakery Rescue , a series following Buddy Valastro across the country helping other family-run bakeries that are struggling to find their own sweet success with his famous blend of business skills and baking expertise. Following the launch of his best-selling first book, Cake Boss, Stories and Recipes from MiaFamiglia , Buddy brought the pages of stories and tips to life on stage via his highly successful Bakin with The Boss Tour. Buddy went on to release a how-to book, Baking with the Cake Boss: 100 of Buddys Best Recipes and Decorating Secrets .

Tlc Ran A Special On Buddy Valastro’s Recovery

TLC ran a special in December following Valastro and his family as they spoke about the incident and Valastro’s recovery moving forward with real-time footage. Ahead of the special, the star posted a few clips from the special, including home security footage showing the moment his family members rushed outside the house to seek help from Valastro’s brother-in-law and licensed EMT and firefighter Joey Faugno.

“It’s a long, emotional journey, from Valastro’s multiple surgeries, to his family anxiously waiting at the hospital, to grueling physical therapy, and to his first days back at the job,” the press release states .

The special sees the Cake Boss in a vulnerable state as he deals with his injury, with a clip from the special seeing the baker return to the famed Carlo’s Bakery and struggle to cut and ice a cake. It’s a heartbreaking moment to watch, but admirable as we see the star continue to push forward and do his best to get back to his normal self again.

Do you have a favorite kind of non-cake dessert?

Non-cake dessert? Well, a lobster tail I would say is really more of a pastry. I’m doing a new concept. And I’m thinking of, “What do I want to bring in this concept?” And I was thinking back to like, the old crumb cake that we used to make and the German butter cake, the Danish, and the croissants, and all that stuff. And I was like, visualizing it displayed in this new bakery showcase. And thinking back of how we made them, and the love and the pride that we took it.

I totally enjoy all that stuff. And I don’t want to say we got pigeonholed, but some of the stuff that we made, like after “Cake Boss,” people only wanted certain things. So we had a whole slew of things that we could have made or can make. But I want to try to bring back some of that stuff that was so iconic, so delicious, and give it a shot again.

Do you have a favorite cake flavor?

My favorite cake flavor is vanilla cake, French cream, fresh raspberries, and chocolate ganache.

And how much baking do you actually do in the bakery these days? You have so much going on.

Carlos Bakery in Dallas has closed.

The bakery was made famous by chef Buddy Valastro, who stars in the TV show Cake Boss. The show started on TLC in 2009 and follows a lovable family of New Jersey chefs making over-the-top cakes.

When the bakery opened in Dallas in 2016, it was the first Carlos bakery in Texas. It was the companys biggest shop opening in its history, and a shocking 7,000 people came to meet Valastro on Day One.

The shop closed Dec. 7, according to Michael Ciullo, chief marketing officer for the company. Today, the shop was locked up and vacant, its dessert cases removed. Its a stark contrast from that first day, when Cake Boss fans stood in the Preston Center parking lot, waiting for hours to buy Valastros famous desserts.

Valastro stayed up until 3 a.m. signing autographs with fans.

All that fervor in 2016 led the family to open a Carlos at Stonebriar Center in Frisco in 2017. Its first customer showed up 18 hours before it opened.

But after a few years of selling strawberry cheesecakes and lobster tails, the Frisco shop closed in February 2020.

With both Dallas and Frisco closed, the Cake Boss crew does not have any more bakeries in Dallas-Fort Worth.

The company is shipping its rainbow cakes, lobster tails, cookies and cupcakes across the country via Goldbelly. Shipping is available in the Dallas area.

We found we could reach a broader audience in Texas, without opening 50 stores, he says.

Cake Boss Moved To Discovery Family In 2019

After it’s two-year hiatus, the show did return, but made a home on a different network. In 2019, “Cake Boss’s” ninth season premiered on Discovery Family, a smaller network than the previous TLC. It followed Valastro and his crew just as previous seasons did, but allowed for a more kid-friendly audience. While “Cake Boss” made the move, Valastro also made a place in Food Network, starring in “Buddy vs. Duff” and “Buddy vs. Christmas.”

The show’s 10th season premiered in 2020 and the move did cause some confusion around each season’s numbering. Technically Discovery Family’s season 10 for the show would be considered season 15 for TLC. It’s uncertain why there was a change in numbering, but season 11 has just premiered on Discovery Family and is set to follow more of the Cake Boss and his team’s shenanigans as they create delicious and creative cakes and desserts.

Sorry Cake Boss Fans Carlos Bake Shop Closes 2 Nj Locations Because Thats The Way The Cookie Crumbles

‘Cake Boss’ Buddy Valastro at Carlo’s Bake Shop in Hoboken, which after several closures is now one of three Carlo’s locations in New Jersey.Kathryn Brenzel | NJ Advance Med

Buddy Valastros empire of cake and pastry just got a little smaller, at least in New Jersey.

When it comes to Bergen and Morris counties, the Cake Boss will not be in, not any more.

The Ridgewood and Morristown locations of Carlos Bake Shop have closed, confirms Carlos spokeswoman Nicole Valdes.

The leases at the two locations ended and the company chose not to renew, she tells NJ Advance Media.

Valastros fleet of Cake Boss bakeries has shrunk by more than just a few crumbs. In August, the bakery chain shuttered another location in Red Bank. That closure followed another in Westfield this past April. There are now three Carlos Bake Shops in the state.

The Ridgewood location of Carlos Bake Shop, which opened in 2013 in Wilsey Square, was Valastros first foray in New Jersey outside of Hoboken. The bakery has been in operation in the Mile Square City since 1910. Valastros family took over in 1964, when his father, Bartolo Valastro Sr., bought the bakery.

The company ships confections including rainbow cookies, red velvet cake and cannoli nationwide and sells bakeware on its website.

Carlos Bake Shops remain open in Hoboken, Wayne and Marlton. The Wayne bakery is located within the Willowbrook Mall.

On Trip Advisor, several visitors to Carlos Bake Shop disclosed their negative experiences. One wrote, I wanted to taste the famous cannoli … What a waste of money. Tasteless filling and the crust was not that good. Another wrote, Ate an eclair and a lobster tail. Both did not taste fresh at all – like they had been on the window for a week.

Buddy Valastro Is Starring On Buddy Vs Duff

Buddy Valastro is currently facing off against master baker Duff Goldman for the third season of Food Network’s “Buddy vs. Duff.”

“This past year has been life-changing for Buddy and Duff Buddy suffering a horrific injury to his dominant hand, and Duff welcoming a daughter and becoming a first-time father. These momentous events have given them a newfound appreciation for life and family – in addition to a stronger motivation to prove their incredible talents with the best cake designs these bakers have ever created in order to break their tie in this fierce cake competition,” Food Network President Courtney White stated in a press release.

This season will see the two bakers face-off with ancient world-inspired cakes, dream car cakes equipped with lights, engines and hydraulics, a feast of savory foods made entirely of cake, as well as design cakes showcasing a bug’s world, pirate ship cakes, and more. This will all lead up to the two-hour season finale when Buddy and Duff will be tasked with creating monster cakes and someone will take home the prize.

Goldman won the king of cake in season one and Valastro took home the crown in season two, so it will be interesting to see who takes it all this season. We know we’ll be watching!

Buddy Valastro Is Running Multiple Companies And Restaurants

In addition to his famed TV shows, Valastro is running multiple businesses and restaurants, including Carlo’s Bakery’s multiple new locations across the United States. In 2013, he opened Buddy V’s Ristorante in Las Vegas. The Italian restaurant now has two more locations in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and McAllen, Texas . When he’s not baking a decadent dessert or a mouthwatering dish, he’s running Cakehouse Media in partnership with television producer Art Edwards.

The two first teamed up to produce “Cake Boss” in 2008 and after much success with the series, launched their own production company in 2014 . They have now produced 12 shows together on Food Network, TLC, Recorde Rede, and YouTube, including “Bake You Rich,” Cooks Vs. Cons,” and of course, “Cake Boss.”

Buddy Valastro also owns his own pet treat and baking items line under the name of Buddy Valastro Foods. The line contains pet treats, as well as non-pet items like cake mix kits, and buttercream icing. The idea for pet treats came when Valastro noticed his family dog, Baci, watching intently as Buddy Valastro whipped up goodies for his wife and kids in their home. He wanted to create treats that would be just as tasty and safe for his pup and started Buddy Valastro Pets, his pet treat line from the company.

All in all, Valastro has kept busy with his businesses we’d say, creating work in multiple industries.

Icing Bonds This Family Together

Buddy Sr., the original Cake Boss, followed in the path of his father and grandfather, both bakers in Sicily, and bought Carlos Bakery from Carlo Guastaffero in 1963. He proudly ran the bakery for over twenty-five years before moving it from residential Adams Street to its current and more central location on Washington Street in Hoboken. The relocation allowed the bakery to grow its customer base and was part of Buddy Sr.s dream to make Carlos a household name. Buddy and his four older sisters were raised in Little Ferry, NJ -their formative years spent watching dough being rolled out, cakes being iced, crostata being baked and cannolis being filled. When Buddy was 11, he began working at the family bakery alongside his father. My dad was my best friend and idol -anything to spend more time with him was important. In the precious years they worked at the bakery together as a father and son team, his dad passed on his wealth of baking knowledge and instilled in him a cast iron business sense and a drive for success.
