The First 100 Customers At The Grand Opening Will Get Free Bundt Cakes For A Year
Cakes dressed in a sweet cream cheese frosting will soon spark joy for Gainesville residents Nothing Bundt Cakes is expanding its reach in north-central Florida.
Amber and Derrick Robinson, the owners of the new Nothing Bundt Cakes franchise, will open a store in Butler Esplanade, located at 3228 SW 35th Blvd., in February 2022.
Every time I hear someone talk about how much they love the cakes, I get energized and I get even more excited, Amber said.
The idea to apply for a store sprouted from their love for entrepreneurship, Amber said. From 2015 to 2021, the couple owned Florida Fun Bikes, a local nighttime store that rented out party bikes to Gainesville residents.
But after having two kids, the couple decided to sell the franchise and prioritize their children. They still wanted to own a franchise but wanted more family-friendly hours. Nothing Bundt Cakes offered them flexibility.
It just became more of a burden, Amber said. We never wanted to let our customers down.
The news was no surprise for Ambers relatives.
During her years at Arizona State University, Amber said she received a Nothing Bundt Cake pastry as a gift and immediately fell in love with the store. She gave Derrick a red velvet bundt cake for his birthday. And it was the best hed ever had.
Prior to the good news of a new location, Gainesville residents had to drive more than 50 miles away to the closest Nothing Bundt Cakes store in Jacksonville.

As a Seminole County resident, Ive noticed the business community growth explosion happening in recent months.
But my observations of the natural choice county level up were confirmed when a Nothing Bundt Cakes shop opened in Lake Mary.
For anyone who lives in Seminole County and loves bundt cakes, then you understand the first-world struggle of having to drive to Tampa, excuse me, Sand Lake and Winter Park to get white chocolate raspberry bundt cake.
Alas, we will finally eat our cake.
But even more interesting than the cake is the story of the cake owner. Rebecca Naylor moved from Texas to Central Florida for the sole purpose of opening a Nothing Bundt Cakes franchise.
I saw lots of growth going on here, lots of construction here. I was surprised with the amount of businesses that were headquartered here, Naylor said. Her store is located next to Deloittes Lake Mary offices. Being on International Parkway and being in the business community has been a big help for us to let people know that were here.
Naylor moved 1200 miles away from home only knowing one friend who lived in Ocala.
The original plan five years ago was to open a franchise in the Dallas-area as she continued to raise her two teenagers. But when Naylors youngest child started her senior year in high school, the possibilities opened up.
Nothing Bundt Cakes corporate headquarters provided her with a list of viable places to open a franchise based on the market research.
