Pure Protein Birthday Cake Protein Bar Review

Pure Protein Bar Review! Trying Birthday Cake Pure Protein Bar For The First Time?

In this post. I am reviewing another protein bar from one of my favorite companies, Pure Protein. I have been eating Pure Protein Bars for breakfast for quite a while now, and there isnt a flavor that I dont like. Next up is the Pure Protein Birthday Cake Protein Bar. This particular bar is one of the bars from Pure Protein that I dont eat on a regular basis, but I bought a box of 6 because I believe all the bars from this company is worth reviewing, and also because they taste so good.

I like most of the birthday cake protein products that I have tried so far, and this bar is no different. I especially love the Chocolate Deluxe, and the Chewy Chocolate Chip, but they are all yummy. This particular bar does not have clean ingredients, however, it tastes great, and is much more nutritious than eating a regular candy bar. So lets check out what is in this protein bar.

How To Make Protein Bars

First, add the birthday cake protein powder, cashew butter, almond flour, maple syrup, vanilla extract, almond extract, and salt to a bowl. Mix together until dough forms.

Next, line a square baking dish with parchment paper. This will prevent the dough from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Also, it will help you remove the bars to slice them later on. Dont skip it!

Then, add the white chocolate chips to a bowl. Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring between, until the white chocolate is completely melted. After, pour it over the dough and spread in an even layer across the dish.

Lastly, chill in the freezer for 5 minutes or just until the white chocolate sets. Depending on your preferred size, gently slice them into 8-12 bars. Enjoy!

Now THIS is how Id like to celebrate my 8th blogiversary!

Yes, ehem, Ive been doing this whole blog thing for EIGHT SOLID YEARS. My jaw has dropped. My mind is blown. I really dont know how to wrap my head around this concept sometimes? What started out as a hobby slowly grew and grew, that by year four I was like, Wow, this has the potential to be my full-time gig! And by year six, I was able to quit my day job and officially become self-employed. And for that, I am so incredibly grateful to each and every one of you.

Without you, this recipe post wouldnt be here.

Without you, this entire blog wouldnt be here!

Before I get to the recipe, I wanted to say that these last eight years have been one helluva rollercoaster. So many ups, so many downs. There are times when the track is bumpy, and I swear there have been moments where it feels like the cart Im in gets stuck upside down in a loop high off the ground, and the only thing keeping me together is a flimsy seatbelt.

To be honest, Ive been struggling with blogging lately. And by lately I mean well over a year. I guess its a combination of things:

  • insomnia
  • hormone changes
  • stress about work
  • stress about money
  • anxiety and depression

After almost a full semester of baking , I started this blog. I didnt know it at the time, but 4/20/2011 was a very special day

But ANYWAYS. ON TO THE GOOD STUFF! AKA THESE BIRTHDAY CAKE PROTEIN BARS!

Supplementing Your Protein Intake

Proteins are some of the main structural components of your body’s cells, and they are necessary for you to survive. These nutrients are made up of chains of amino acids–smaller building blocks that help define the role of each protein. Ideally, you will get enough protein from dietary sources alone if you eat healthy meals and snacks. Some people, however, choose to supplement their protein intake with products like bars or shakes. Athletes, especially, often want to boost protein intake in the hopes that it will contribute to the development of lean muscle. Protein bars are not evaluated or endorsed by the FDA, and you should always talk to your doctor before starting any new nutritional supplements.

Types Of Pure Protein Bars

Pure Protein manufactures three unique types of protein bars–original, baked, and Greek-style yogurt. The varieties differ in the way that their texture contributes to taste. You can also choose the bars that interest you most based on their flavors. Chocolate is the most popular flavor and is often paired with other combinations like caramel or coconut. Several of the Greek yogurt bars, on the other hand, feature fruit flavors like blueberry or strawberry. Regardless of the specific taste profile you prefer, one of the best parts about Pure Protein bars is that they are incredibly portable, and you can carry them with you so that you always have access to a snack when you need one. The brand also clearly labels the amounts of protein and sugar in each bar as well as the total calories so that you can keep easy track of what you’re eating.

  • Birthday cake protein powder: There are so many brands to choose from, so feel free to use your favorite! If you cant find a cake batter protein powder, plain vanilla protein will work just as well.
  • Cashew butter: This is the best nut butter to use when youre making a sweet treat, like cake or cookie dough. It has a milder and sweeter flavor than peanut butter.
  • Almond flour: Otherwise known as ground almonds, this is a wholesome alternative to all-purpose flour. I recommend using a superfine variety, like Bobs Red Mill Superfine Almond Flour.
  • Maple syrup: Maple syrup naturally sweetens these healthy protein bars.
  • White chocolate: Use your favorite brand of white chocolate chips. If youre vegan, make sure you choose a dairy-free variety.
  • Sprinkles: Rainbow sprinkles make these homemade protein bars so much fun! You can even take it a step further and use holiday-themed sprinkles around Halloween, Christmas, or Valentines Day.
  • Vanilla extract: Pure vanilla extract helps bring about that classic cake batter taste we are aiming for.
  • Almond extract: Surprisingly, this extract tastes nothing like almonds. It has a strong, sweet flavor and only a quarter teaspoon is needed.
  • Salt: Add a pinch to balance the other rich flavors.
