Devotion Nutrition Angel Food Cake Protein Powder

Must Try

Is It The Best

Angel food cake & Brownie Batter protein taste test by Devotion Nutrition

As you can tell Devotion Proteins Brownie Batter flavor is definitely delicious, however the big question remaining is does it live up to the brands claim of being the best tasting protein powder ever created? To that wed have to say it makes a strong argument.

Devotion Protein is easily one of the best chocolate proteins weve ever tried, and one wed be more than happy to purchase as our go to protein. Its not a clear winner in our minds, although with that said we do think its good enough to win the #1 spot for some protein users.

Not Just Your Typical Protein

Before we get into how Devotion Protein tastes, it is worth going over its formula as it isnt your typical protein powder. Devotion actually packs quite a few extras into its protein competitor on top of its traditional nutrition profile of 22g of protein, 4g of carbohydrates, 2g of fat, and 120 calories.

The extras thrown in with Devotion Protein include a transparent breakdown of its protein sources, with 80% of it coming from whey isolate and the other 20% from micellar casein. The product is also gluten free, features no added amino spiking ingredients, has a gram of MCTs, comes in stevia flavored options, and lastly packs a handful of digestive enzymes.

Devotion Nutrition Angel Food Cake Review

Since I couldnt find Devotion Nutrition on Amazon, Ive been waiting for a good time to try some of their products. Now Ive purchased some to try and here is my Devotion Nutrition angel food cake review.

Ive mentioned before that Im not a huge pusher of supplements, but I do use them. Protein powders have their place as a supplement to boost your protein intake, but really they are good because of what they dont have more than what they do. Low levels of fat and carbs mean you can boost your protein intake without boosting calories as much as you would with natural foods.

I feel that actual real food is better than a powder. The majority, if not all protein, should come from a natural source, and a protein powder should just be there to fill in the gaps or to give you a boost. Real protein sources like chicken, eggs or beans come with other micro nutrients and fiber that help your body in addition to their macro nutrients.

How I Found Devotion Nutrition

That said, I do generally use about a scoop of protein powder per day. Its fast, convenient and the good powders taste great. So Im always interested in finding products that may taste better or somehow be better than what I usually eat. These days Im also getting more interested in cooking or baking with protein powders so that I can have some desert without going over my macros and calories.

So when I started using Avatar Nutrition I became interested in their recipes. That is when I became aware of devotion nutrition as their recommended protein for baking and cooking. When I checked it out, I was disappointed that I couldnt find their products on Amazon, and also that they are expensive. So I purchased a protein that I thought would be a good substitute, but I never forgot about devotion.

Recently though I decided to revisit them and check out their products again and I took the plunge. I bought a tub of their Angel Food Cake Protein because they dont offer standard vanilla, and this seems to be the closest thing. I bought it for $49, and it took about a week for it to get to me.

When To Take Protein Powder

Angel Food Cake Protein
  • As you grow. A teen needs more protein for his workout because his body is still growing and consuming more protein in general.
  • When you start an exercise program. If training is new to you and you are trying to build muscle, you will require more protein than you normally would.
  • As you reinforce your training steps. If you usually work out for half an hour a couple of times a week, but now you have chosen to train for a half-marathon, your body will need more protein.
  • When you are recovering from an injury. Athletes with sports injuries often need more protein to help them heal better.
  • If you are vegan. People who follow a vegetarian lifestyle eliminate a number of common protein sources from their diet, including meat, chicken, fish, milk and eggs.

Devotion Protein Review: One Of The Best Chocolate Proteins On The Market

When we were first introduced to Devotion Nutrition, the brand came across as fairly creative with its unique and convenient zero calorie Flex Flavors. What was even more interesting about the brand was that it claims to have the best tasting protein powder ever created. We recently got our hands on a tub of Devotion Protein to find out for ourselves exactly how true that statement is.

Devotion Nutrition Protein Powder And Flex Flavors

The one thing that has helped me through my weight loss journey is starting my day with a high protein meal. Ive recently discovered Devotion Nutrition protein powder. Its specifically made for cooking and baking but can also be used for shakes.

Their protein powder comes in three base protein powder flavors.

  • Angel Food Cake -1 point per scoop
  • Brownie Batter-2 points per scoop
  • Buttery Blend 2 points per scoop
  • Sweet Potato Pie* limited edition- 2 points per scoop
  • Mocha Java Chip* limited edition- 2 points per scoop

Devotion Protein Powder is gluten free, has over 20 grams of protein, and is low in points. It keeps me from feeling deprived being able to make low point waffles, pancakes, donuts, cupcakes, cookies, scones and shakes with it.

They sell flex flavors packets that are flavors for the base protein. I especially love that dont have to purchase so many different protein flavors. I especially love the rainbow flex flavor box.

All you need is a base flavor and some flavor packets. I recommend the rainbow flex flavor packets. The rainbow pack comes with 30 zero point stevia packets and includes 2 of each: Creme BruleePeanut Butter CrunchBoston Cream Donut

Im an affiliate with Devotion Nutrition which allows my readers and followers a discounted price.

What Is Protein Powder

Taste Test: Devotion Nutrition Protein Powder

Protein powder comes in various forms. The three most common are whey, soy and casein protein. Whey is the most commonly used because it is a water-soluble milk protein. Its also a complete protein, so it has a lot of benefits. People who are vegan prefer soy protein although its taste can sometimes be a little unpleasant, and it does not dissolve in water either.

Protein powder also comes in very varying prices. For the casual athlete who does not have a specific need at a certain point in their training, the cost is not that important. So if you are going to use it, you can get pretty much the same benefit from the cheaper, more commercially available proteins.

In very specific cases, protein powders may be useful. They are an easy and convenient source for complete high quality proteins. But remember: Most people, even athletes, can also get everything they offer by eating sources of lean protein like meat, fish, chicken and dairy products.
