This cake was very pretty and tasty but way too sweet. The icing should not overpower the cake. Also, the package was left in the hot sun in the driveway with no knock on the door or other notice to the recipient. When I informed the company of this, their only comment was that they had no control over their carrier. They wanted me to send a picture… go figure…I live in PA and the cake was delivered to MD!!!! I will not be ordering from a company with this attitude.
In the past 3 years I have purchased at least 15 cakes from We Take the Cake, and have been pleased each time.They are always fresh, the flavor and texture are unique and outstanding. My favorite is the Coconut cake – and even have friends who say they do not like coconut but love this cake. Chocolate cake generally not my favorite, but have a second piece of this one. Lemon Raspberry, vanilla, carrot – it does not matter which you pick they are all good.And the 4 layer cake looks very impressive and everyone can immediately tell that this is a special cake.It is a MUST TRY!

Took me a while to write this review because I wanted to the variety of the cakes the business offers. Since, my family has tried most of them I can say there product is very good, consistent and provide more variety than most. This company…is meticulous in detail of presentation, packaging and storage of the cake you purchase. I had this cake shipped to my mother since I couldn’t be with her on her birthday to bake her a cake. She called me to say that it was the best chocolate cake she’d ever had. I also had flowers shipped to her. She thanked me for the flowers, but it was this cake she kept raving about.

Cake looked gorgeous.. BUT, as soon as cut in WORST, dry crumbly LOW-QUALITY cake .. below a Walmart or WIn-Dixie quality DISSAPOINTING !!!!! Not at all a moist, quality cake get from a good gourmet bakery. The frosting tasted “ok” but cheap quality… HORRIBLE… No one ate more than a few bites — We ended up throwing cake down garbage disposal EXPENSIVE, Pretty- GARBAGE HORRIBLE quality cake
