Question About Creating My Image Or Design

How do I upload the pictures

Our customers who purchase printers and icing sheets can use our website to print on their sheets using a feature called iPrint. This is a simple step by step program that allows you to upload your images, select your sheet size, and optionally add text or other effects. You can create simple sheets, or if you want to get more elaborate we offer an iPrint tutorial that will explain more advanced features. You will use this feature to create your image when you submit your order, allowing you to see exactly how your printed sheet will look.

I see that I can also order colorful patterns, tell me about that?

In addition to uploading your own pictures, Icing Images® offers a feature called iDesigns, which allows you to select, scale, and print from almost 2000 repeatable patterns. While most of the patterns are decorative, we also offer full-page sports themes, for example a soccer field that you can print that can serve as the background for adding edible players or decorations on top. Just as with the iPrint feature, consult the easy to follow tutorial for complete instructions on using iDesigns.

Can I have different text on each small circle?

Sorry, text that you add using iPrint will be applied to all circles. If you want different text on each circle, you will have to add the text to the image itself using a photoshop-type graphics application first before uploading your image.

Can I just email you a picture?

Can A 1 Year Old Eat Birthday Cake

The recommendations advise no cake for children under age 2

One of the most photographed moments at a childs first birthday party is the little cherub face covered in cake and icing. This may change now that new U.S. dietary guidelines recommend children do not eat cake or candy until they turn two years old.

    Design Transfer With Buttercream

How to put a photo on a cake

Follow step of the above. But note that youll be using regular paper to print out your picture.

Trace the picture onto a parchment paper with an edible marker, the finer the tip of the marker, the better for your transfer. Also mark the outer boundary of the cake.

Turn the picture that you have traced face down on a piece of glass cutting board or transparent acrylic and secure with masking tape.

Fill a piping bag with black icing and insert a small writing tip to the bag.

    Outline the picture.

Fill your piping bags with different colors of icing as required. Then fit with a star or pastry tip.

Using the different colors in the piping bags, fill out your picture/design.

Always place the picture in the freezer after each application of icing. This would prevent the buttercream from smudging.

Check the picture to be sure that every little spot is filled. If there are any empty spots, you can use a small paint brush to fill them in with icing.

Finally, fill in the background color. Ensure that the background color you use matches with the color of the cake or the surface on which the picture would be placed.

Smooth out the background color on the cake with an offset spatula.

Place the picture in the freezer overnight.

Place The Picture On The Cake

When you are ready to use it, remove the picture from the freezer and remove from the glass piece or whatever you placed it on.

Will Bakeries Print An Edible Image For Me

    Updated 19 Jan 2011 , 4:01pmby bellaudreycakes

I borrowed my aunt’s printer with edible ink to use for my son’s birthday cake this weekend. I just printed the images, and the printer is out of red and yellow ink so the images did not come out well. Time is running out, and I’m desperate to have the images printed. If I called local bakeries in the morning, what is the likelihood that one could print the images for me?Thanks,

Some grocery markets/bakery will and some will not.

    Yes, some do some don’t.

I’ve thought about this before, and almost needed to do the same thing. My approach was going to be a little bit sneaky, though:I was going to go to the supermarket direct with photo in hand, and ask to speak to the bakery manager or whomever was in charge, and explain that I would like to have an edible image made. I would have told them that the reason why I don’t just buy a cake w/ EI is because the birthday boy/girl or party attendant is/are diabetic or highly allergic and thus I needed to make the cake from a very specific recipe, but would still like to put this very special photo on their cake.Really, I don’t see how they could say no..

where do you get ediable ink at??? Do you use just a regular printer..I just paid 13.50 for a ediable print at a bakery here in mine town..

Walmart should, mine charges $5 a sheet

Can You Put Edible Images On Cream Cheese Frosting

Edible images can be put on all types of frosting including cream cheese frosting. What differs with every frosting however is the method of application.

Frostings with high fat content or moisture would absorb the edible image and it wouldnt last long on it. So it is best to place the edible image on a plaque of fondant before placing it on the cake. We discussed this method of application extensively in the main article on this post.

What Is The Difference Between A Cupcake And A Fairy Cake

What is the difference between a fairy cake and a cupcake? Cupcakes are bigger than fairy cakes and use a generous amount of frosting on top. In comparison, fairy cakes are often drizzled with icing rather than piled high with the buttercream or cream cheese frostings that American-style cupcakes are famous for.

Will my uploaded picture print exactly the way it looks on my computer?

The way you see your image on your computer monitor may vary slightly in the way our printer prints with the edible inks – there are so many computer/monitor brands and settings that an exact match is never possible. Also, taking a photo of an old paper photo for uploading can result in different printed colors depending on how your camera interprets the photo’s colors.

What kind of paper are the images printed on?

The images are printed on our Premium Icing Sheets, which are the highest quality icing sheets on the market. The icing sheet has a backing, similar to a sticker that you will remove before applying the image to your cake. The icing sheet is sealed in a plastic bag, and can last up to 6 months before use, without refrigeration.

    Printing On Edible Icing Sheet

To print and put a picture on cake is very simple all you need to do is follow these steps:-

Find the picture you want to use online or scan a picture and upload. Ensure that your picture is clear and has all the details well highlighted. Then print it out on with edible ink and edible icing sheet on the printer that is designated for edible inks only. Take into consideration the size of your cake so that youll print out the correct picture size.

Next cut the picture as close to the borders as possible

Remove the plastic backing from the icing sheet and carefully place the picture on the cake

For fondant covered cake, we usually roll out a thin layer of fondant the size of the picture, then remove the trimmed icing sheet from the plastic backing and place on the fondant layer. Then we trim the fondant to size with the picture before placing it on the cake. The fondant layer serves as a backing for the picture and gives it more definition on the cake. Bear in mind that the fondant has to be the same color with the fondant on the cake. This method also works for frosting with high fat density. The fondant backing would not allow the picture to melt into the icing.

However, if it is a buttercream cake we just ensure that the surface of the cake is slightly crusted . Then place the icing sheet directly and gently adhere it to the cake. The icing sheet would be absorbed by the buttercream without blurring the colors or entire picture.

How To Put A Picture Onto A Cake: Tips And Tricks

    • When using a printed edible picture, make sure your cake has an even and slightly moist top layer. If not, just spray a little water onto your cake.
    • If using a fondant cake, dab a damp paper towel over the surface before placing the sheet on the cake.
    • Once your edible image has been on the cake for about 4-5 minutes, the sheet will start blending into your cake. Avoid touching the cake after this point.
    • If there are any creases on your edible sheet, gently rub back and forth. If there is any tear, continue doing so and it will join back up.
    • Always peel your plastic peel away from the image, not the other way round. The printed image is very fragile and bending it in any way may lead to breakage.
    • Never use the edible sheet if it is dry. Place a damp paper towel on the plastic end of the sheet and let it sit for a while. It should moisten it up.
    • Do not let the edible sheets come in contact with water at any cost.
