Generally, I use store bought ice cream to create this recipe. However you can make this Easy homemade vanilla ice cream recipe for this recipe!

This homemade ice cream is smooth and creamy plus incredibly simple to make. You dont even need an ice cream maker to make this delicious homemade ice cream!

How To Make Oreo Cookies And Cream Ice Cream Cake

You start with my usual suspects two layers of brownie and my favorite no-ice-cream-machine-needed ice cream base. To that ice cream base you add loads and loads of Oreo.

Pretty easy so far, right?

Next, you want to prepare your pan for building the cake. Ive noted this in the instructions, but its important to use the same pan to build the cake as you did to make the brownies, otherwise the brownies may be too big or small.

I usually put a cake circle in the bottom of the cake pan I used and line it with parchment paper. The cake circle makes it nice an easy to move the cake around once I take it out of the pan.

Now comes the layering the fun part!

Weve got a layer of brownie on the bottom, topped with Oreo ice cream. Add some chocolate sauce to that and youre half way there! You add the second brownie, the rest of the ice cream and then top with even more chopped Oreos, chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Bam! All done!

Its the most fabulous ice cream cake ever. Seriously. You cant buy this in the store people. And you wont want to stop eating it. So you know what that means time to make the cake and grab a fork.

  • 8 oz Cool Whip, thawed
  • 1 1/4 cups Oreo crumbs
  • 710 Oreos, chopped, optional
  • 1 20 oz bottle chocolate sundae syrup
  • additional Oreos and whipped cream for the top, optional

Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Cake

Vary this dessert by using different flavors of ice cream.

1 package small chocolate chip cookies
¼ cup margarine, melted
1 cup hot fudge topping
2 quarts vanilla ice cream
1 cup whipped cream
12 cherries cherries

Steps:

  • Crush half the cookies to make crumbs. Combine crumbs with melted margarine and press into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan or pie plate. Stand remaining cookies around edge of pan. Spread 3/4 cup fudge topping over crust. Freeze 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, soften 1 quart of ice cream in microwave or on countertop. After crust has chilled, spread softened ice cream over fudge layer. Freeze 30 minutes.
  • Scoop remaining quart of ice cream into balls and arrange over spread ice cream layer. Freeze until firm, 4 hours or overnight. To serve, garnish with remainder of fudge topping, whipped cream and cherries.

You guys are not going to believe how easy it is to make this simple but amazing dessert.

All you need are 3 ingredients!

I was a little disappointed to see that the ice cream sandwiches were trying to thaw for about an hour or so AFTERI put them into the freezer!

Im really not sure why they did this but it seems I remember they did this last time I made this ice cream sandwich version of ice cream cake as well.

In the future I may freeze my metal tray before I cover it with foil so it starts out good & cold.

As it was, all I needed to do was remove the melted portion with a straight-edged utensil which means RancherMan & I got a little freebie taste ice cream before the party even began!

How To Make A Coffee Cookies And Cream Ice Cream Cake:

Crush your cookies into crumbs and mix it with melted butter. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of the pan and refrigerate it.

Set out the cookies and cream ice cream for about 10-20 minutes. You want the ice cream to soften but not melt, so just keep an eye on it. If you house is cooler, it will take a little longer to soften up. Stir it and then spread it out on the prepared crust. Place the pan in the freezer for about 30 minutes.

Stir together a jar of hot fudge and some Oreo cookie chunks. You may need to heat the hot fudge for a few seconds. Just dont heat it up too much because we dont want it to melt our ice cream layers. Spread this cookie mixture on top of the ice cream in the pan and then place it back in the freezer.

Set out the coffee ice cream to soften and then spread it on top of the fudge layer. Cover the top with plastic wrap and freeze for 4-6 hours or overnight.

To get the sides of the springform pan to open easily, you will need to run a hot knife around the sides. Place your knife under hot water and then dry it off before doing this. You will need to clean it off multiple times.

Open the pan and gently lift the cake out.

Right before serving, swirl some homemade whipped cream around the edges of the Coffee Cookies and Cream Ice Cream Cake and fill the center with the extra Oreo cookie chunks.

The Secret Ingredient For Making This Cookies And Cream Cake

One thing I really wanted to do with the cake portion of this recipe was mimic the actual flavor of an Oreo cookie. Oreos are known for their super dark, almost black color, which is typically achieved by using black cocoa powder. Black cocoa undergoes a special processing that removes a lot of the acidity, giving the cocoa an extremely dark color and very intense chocolate taste. It also tends to be lower in fat than other cocoa powders, and if its used by itself in recipes, can produce dry baked goods. So I rarely use it all on its owninstead, I like to substitute black cocoa powder for a portion of the cocoa a recipe calls for, usually a third to a half of the recommended cocoa.

This is the black cocoa powder I use and recommend. Its reasonably priced, especially considering youll only use it for a portion of the cocoa needed in any given recipe, and can last for several years if stored properly. If you dont have black cocoa powder, you can just use an equal amount of the regular cocoa powder, no harm, no foul! Nothing else about the recipe needs to be changed, although you might notice your cake rounds are not quite as dark as mine turned out.

Youll also want to stock up on Oreos and the cute lil mini Oreos for decorating. You could also just decorate with regular Oreos cut in half, if you hate fun and whimsy in your life. Your choice!

One of the 2 loaf cakes that it makes when divided between 2 loaf 9×4 pans was used for this ice cream cake recipe. This chocolate pound cake recipe is irresistible. My daughter thinks the cake alone tastes like ice cream. Its my favorite! P.S. Dark Chocolate Cocoa Powderis worth taking the time to find for this cake recipe. I always keep it stocked.

Work quickly when putting the cake together. Ice cream has a tendency to melt. So be prepared with all pieces and parts ready to assemble.

Easily substitute fruit or other cookies for the Oreos, or delete the cookies altogether. Another flavor of ice cream or cake could be used as well to create your own ice cream cake creation.

Wow your family and friends with a Cookies and Ice Cream Cheesecake. This Cookies and Ice Cream Cheesecake is reminiscent of cookie dough ice cream.

1 pkg. chocolate chip cookies , divided
2 Tbsp. butter, melted
2 pkg. PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1-1/2 qt. vanilla ice cream, slightly softened

Steps:

  • Crush 20 cookies to form fine crumbs mix with butter until well blended. Press onto bottom of 9-inch springform pan. Chop 16 of the remaining cookies.
  • Beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla in large bowl with mixer until well blended. Add ice cream mix well. Stir in chopped cookies pour over crust.
  • Freeze 4 hours or until firm. Remove from freezer 10 min. before serving let stand at room temperature to soften slightly. Top with remaining cookies.

  • As you can see my cookie sheets cracked when assembling, ifyou want yours to remain solid, slice into three as soon as it comes out of theoven when its still soft because as it cools it hardens. but even if it cracksuse them anyway
  • In the video I used parchment paper, however I recommend usingsaran wrap because if your parchment/wax paper is not strong it will rip whenwet from the ice-cream
  • Do be patient, the ice-cream needs to firm up to it can besliced easily
  • To release it from the pan run a little water on the bottomof the pan and the cake will come out easily
  • When tempering your eggs gradually add the warm mile mixtureto the egg, if the milk mixture is too hot the eggs will scramble, and formlittle clumps in the mixture. But if that does happen a little no worries just strainthe liquid before churning into ice-cream.
  • You can make this same recipe with no eggs for an egg free ice-creambase then follow all the instructions for the cookie n cream recipe
  • A sharp hot knife cuts this like butter, boil some water and place the knife in the water for 1 to 2 minutes dry the knife then slice the cake.

Cookies and Cream Ice Cream Cake is a quick and easy dessert. A bit of a cheat dessert if you will but show stopping none the less!

How To Make Oreo Ice Cream Cake

Easy Cookies n Cream Ice Cream Cake  The Comfort of Cooking
  • MAKE THE COOKIE CRUST In the bowl of a food processor, add the entire Oreo cookies and pulse into fine crumbs. Add the milk and melted butter and blend until well combined. Press mixture into the bottom and sides of a 6 springform pan. Place in freezer for about 30 minutes-1 hour to set.
  • SOFTEN THE ICE CREAM: Take out the chocolate ice cream to soften and stir occasionally until smooth and spreadable. Stir in half of the crushed Oreo cookies.
  • ASSEMBLE THE LAYERS: Spread chocolate ice cream over the cookie crust evenly using an offset spatula if needed. Top with crushed Tim Tam biscuits if desired.
  • FREEZE and BUILD THE LAYERS: Place in freezer to harden for about 20 minutes while taking out the container of vanilla ice cream to soften. Once softened, mix in the other half of the crushed Oreo cookies. Spread evenly to make the top layer. Return to freezer and allow to set for at least 2-3 hours, or ideally overnight.
  • ALLOW CAKE TO THAW SLIGHTLY: When ready to serve, let the cake sit at room temperature for about 3-5 minutes, and run a knife around the inside of the cake pan. Open the springform mold gently it should release easily from the slightly melted cake..
  • TO STORE THE CAKE: Once the cake is assembled just wrap it up loosely with plastic wrap and tin foil and store it in your freezer prior to decorating.
  • Return to the freezer to set up for about 15 minutes or serve immediately.
