Okay, it’s time to get started making our Nothing Bundt Cakes copycat recipe. There are two sections of this recipe: the bundt cake and the frosting. We’ll start with the cake ingredients. Because we’re using a prepared cake mix, this process is very simple. Simply add the ingredients to the bowl of a stand mixer: the devil’s food cake mix, chocolate instant pudding, sour cream, mayonnaise, eggs, water, and canola. We’ll leave the chocolate chips out for now and add them in later.

Mix the cake using the paddle attachment of a stand mixer. If you don’t have a stand mixer, you can mix the cake with a spoon or use a hand mixer. You’re looking to fully incorporate the flour without overmixing. It’s okay if there are some lumps, but you don’t want to see any dry bits of flour.

When the batter has come together, add the chocolate chips. Fold them into the batter gently using a silicone spatula or a large wooden spoon. Again, you don’t want to overmix the batter here, but we do want to distribute the chocolate chips throughout the cake mix.

How To Make Sure Your Nothing Bundt Cakes Copycat Recipe Doesnt Stick

The most frustrating part of making a bundt cake is removing it from the pan. If you havent properly prepared the pan, it will stick and destroy the cakes beautiful look. This can even happen with nonstick bundt pans. Luckily, we have a method that ensures that the cake wont stick to the pan.

Start by spreading a thin layer of butter over the entire pan. You can also use shortening, if you prefer, but dont use oil or nonstick spray you want to use something thats solid at room temperature.

Use your fingers to smooth the butter over every crevice in the pan. Then, grab a pinch of flour and dust it over the pan, making sure it hits all the buttered surfaces. When the entire pan has a thin layer of flour, turn it upside down over the trash can to shake out the excess. Now, when you add the cake batter, it wont stick to the sides.

Nothing Bundt Cakes Flavors Ranked Worst To Best

Bundt cakes refer to cakes that have been baked in a special donut-shaped pan. The pans often have unique patterns within the round shape and can create everything from simple circles to beautiful terraced creations. This type of cake has its origins in Europe, where it was likely inspired by the Gugelhupf cake of Central Europe .

While the Gugelhupf is a yeast-based cake often cooked with raisins, bundt cakes in the United States are not linked to any particular recipe. They rose to popularity in the U.S. in the 1960s and have remained a popular cake for parties and formal gatherings.

Nothing Bundt Cakes was founded in 1997 by Dena Tripp and Debbie Shwetz, two women who were known among friends for their delicious bundt cakes. They now have locations all over the country and continue to be a fast-growing franchise. Their cakes are known for being flavorful, moist, and delicious. However, not every flavor can be a winner. Here are all the Nothing Bundt Cakes flavors ranked from worst to best.

Nothing Bundt Cakes: Picking The Best Ingredients

When making this cream cheese frosting recipe, it is best to use real and fresh ingredients. When selecting cream cheese, real full fat cream cheese in brick form is best to use. It has the least amount of water and is easy to use.

You will want to avoid using whipped or spreadable cream cheese because they will change the consistency of the frosting. These types of cream cheese tend to have more water which leads to a runny frosting.

For this recipe, it is best to use real butter and not imitation butter or margarine. It is also ideal to use real sugar and avoid using artificial sweeteners. Using only real ingredients will give it a pure and delightful taste.

If you really want to keep your Nothing Bundt Cakes copycat cake fresh, you’ll need to store it in the refrigerator, where it’s good for up to five days. It’s best to keep the cake whole and loosely wrap it in plastic wrap so it will stay as moist as possible. But, you could also store individual slices if you prefer.

If you still have leftovers , you can freeze them for up to three months. The best way to freeze this frosted bundt cake is to put it in the freezer for 15 minutes to set the frosting. Then, wrap it very tightly with a layer of plastic wrap. Finish by wrapping it in aluminum foil and store it in the freezer for up to three months. Which Bundt Pan Is Best

Youll want to use a sturdy, anodized aluminum bundt pan. These pans are excellent conductors and provide consistent heat, helping your cake bake evenly. A nonstick coating makes it easier to invert the cake without tearing it.

Im a firm believer in investing in pans that will last longer than you. I like Nordic Ware, as they have a large selection of decorative bundt pans. The company was started in Minneapolis by a chemical engineer and metallurgist and his wife after the Second World War. Initially, they produced a small range of specialty pans that were inspired by Scandinavian bakeware hence the ornate designs. But, after bundts rose in popularity in America in the 1950s when a cake baked in a Nordic Ware bundt pan won a national baking prize, theyve since expanded their offerings.

What Is The Best Flavor Of Nothing Bundt Cakes

Warne said her favorite flavor changes from time to time. But the No. 1 seller at her stores is definitely the chocolate chocolate chip , followed close behind by red velvet, white chocolate raspberry and lemon. Each one of those four most popular flavors are available in single-serving sizes every day.

How Close Did We Get To The Original Nothing Bundt Cake Chocolate Chocolate Chip

Our version of Nothing Bundt Cakes Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake was nothing short of phenomenal. The combination of eggs, sour cream, and mayonnaise was the perfect recipe for keeping the cake batter light and moist.

When it came to chocolate flavor, this cake certainly had it. The chocolate pudding was rich, and the chocolate chips melted in your mouth as you took a bite. When you combined that ultra-rich chocolate flavor with the sweet, slightly tangy cream cheese frosting, it almost tasted like an Oreo cookie.

Did they have a leg up on us when it came to decoration? Perhaps. The frosting on our cake was a little clunky looking compared to the original, but these guys are experts who frost cakes every single day. From afar, you really couldn’t tell that our version wasn’t made in a professional kitchen. Up close, you might see a few imperfections, but they won’t matter once you dig in and take a bite.

NOTHING BUT BUNDT CAKE HACKâ¼ï¸?BOXED CAKE MIX HACKâ¼ï¸?HOW TO MAKE A BOX CAKE TASE HOMEMADEâ¼ï¸?

Yesssss! This recipe uses a boxed cake mix — making it a perfect cake to bake with small kids! They can basically do everything themselves except put the cake in the oven.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • vegetable or canola oil
  • chocolate chips

Unlike some homemade cakes, this cake is very forgiving, so if you step away and your kids have added more sour cream — no biggie. You won’t have a sloppy mess of a cake if the measurements aren’t exactly right. That’s the beauty of boxed cake mix…very forgiving.

And I know Nothing Bundt Cake’s vanilla bundt cake does not contain chocolate chips, so feel free to leave these out. This cake is a hybrid between their classic vanilla and chocolate chocolate chip bundt cakes. It also ended a tiresome argument about what kind of cake we’re going to make because one is an adamant vanilla cake lover and the other chocolate.
