It may have taken a few months longer than expected, but the cakes will taste just as sweet. Greenvilles first Nothing Bundt Cakes is set to open in the Verdae Village shopping center on Halloween day.
The bakery specializes in you guessed it bundt cakes, but it takes it to another level. Nothing Bundt Cakes features nine flavors daily, as well as a seasonal flavor and then offers them in a variety of sizes, all the way from standard 10-inch to the mini bundtinis.
The Greenville location is the brainchild of Diane Hardy, who fell in love with the cakes when she tasted one last year. Hardy offers herself as proof of just how good the bundt cakes are.
Im a pie person actually, Hardy says with a laugh.
But there was something about the cake, Hardy says. She remembers her first bite, while at a friends reunion in Michigan. When Hardy returned home, she searched for a place to buy the bundt cake, but found none close by.
Really, I just wanted to buy a cake, hardy says. I didnt plan on buying a franchise. And then I thought, well maybe there are other people like me that would love to buy this cake.
Nothing Bundt cakes was started by two women, one of whom had a great cake recipe and the other of whom had a great frosting recipe. They put them together and the cakes took off. Today, there are over 200 Nothing Bundt Cake stores in the U.S. The Greenville store will be the second in South Carolina .
