How Do You Make Brownie Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Chocolate Ice Cream Cake

Make brownies according to package directions. If using my homemade brownie recipe, click here for recipe directions and bake for 35-40 minutes. Pour into 9-inch spring-form pan that has been prepared with cooking spray.

Remove brownies from oven and let them completely cool. To get the brownies to cool quickly I will stick them in the fridge, while I am preparing the other layers.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough -Beat together butter and sugars until combined. Add vanilla and stir, then gradually beat in flour and cornstarch. Set aside.

Hot Fudge Sauce- In a small mixing bowl stir together brown sugar and cocoa powder, set aside.

In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, add butter and milk, bring to a slow boil, and let it bubble for 3-5 minutes. Stirring occasionally. Add cocoa and brown sugar mixture, stirring constantly and cook for 2-3 minutes and sauce is smooth.

Immediately remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Set aside to cool. Once hot fudge has cooled to room temp, set the in the fridge until ready to serve. I will store this in a large mason jar, until ready to use.

Assemble -Press the chocolate chip cookie dough onto the cooled brownies. Make sure that your brownies are completely cooled so that you dont have melted chocolate chip cookie dough.

Once you have the chocolate chip cookie dough spread evenly over the brownies, add chocolate ice cream. I do this by scooping the ice cream over the dough then spreading gently with a knife, to make a smooth surface.

Brown sugar: A must for a chocolate chip cookie, edible dough or baked. Light or dark is fine.

Granulated sugar: The finer this is the better, one of our goals in whipping this so long is to get most of the sugar granules to dissolve so that we dont feel their texture in the frozen cake.

Flour: All-purpose flour. If you wanted to make it a little interesting you could toast some oat flour and see how that goes.

Salt & vanilla: For flavor, add as much or as little as you like bearing in mind that when things are frozen the taste is more muted.

Butter: No substitutes here unless its a vegan butter . If you wanted to brown the butter for more flavor you could but add a bit more before you brown it to compensate for moisture loss and let it chill before you begin beating it with the sugar.

Heavy cream: This is what fluffs up and smooths out the cookie dough. See below for a substitute.

Ice Cream: Your middle layer! Whatever you like will work it just needs to be a little soft when building the cake and able to freeze solid for slicing.

Chocolate: Something not overly sweet but not overly hard when frozen. If you are using regular sized chips I recommend chopping some of them to avoid having big tough, frozen chunks.

How Do You Eat This Thing

So youre probably wondering, with the frozen cookie dough crust, frozen cookie dough balls and ganache how the heck do you eat this? Well after many, many tests, I found the best plan of attack is to:

  • Use a regular fork, not a plastic fork or a spoon.
  • Eat the ice cream filling and ganache topping first. Im one of the few normal people who lets my ice cream melt in my mouth rather than eating it with my teeth. Combine this with the ganache and they both just melt in your mouth, then you can enjoy the chocolate chips and cookie dough that was stuffed inside
  • Once youre done with all that, the cookie dough bottom should have thawed enough for you to enjoy as an extra snack!

    How To Make Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream Cake

    Let your cookie dough ice cream sit on the counter to soften as you prep the ice cream cake. You want the cake soft enough to scoop and spread but you dont want it to be melted.

    Line the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan with parchment paper. Letting it overhang from the pan by an inch or so will help to act as a sling to remove the cake when ready to serve.

    Unwrap the ice cream sandwiches and lay them at the bottom of the pan, lining the edge.

    Place 3-4 chocolate chip cookies in the middle of the sandwiches. If you plan to serve the cake soon, within a day or two, I recommend first dipping the cookies in milk. Depending on the height of your sandwiches, you may need a bit more or less to make the cookies even with the top of the sandwich layer.

    Place your ice cream on top of the sandwiches and cookies. Spread into a nice and even layer, making sure to get in the cracks well.

    Make a layer of cookies over the ice cream. This should take about 14 cookies to create an even layer.

    Crumble your remaining cookies over the top and then adjust the crumbs to fill in any cracks that might reveal the ice cream layer below.

    Cover the pan with plastic wrap and place it in the freezer for at least 2 hours to chill and set before serving.

    Remove the cake from the pan and use a frosting bag and Wilton 2A tip to place dollops of whipped topping over the cake, or simply dollop it with a spoon.

    Drizzle some chocolate syrup over the top and your cake is ready to slice and serve. Enjoy!

    This crust is pure cookie dough perfection! Ive seen a lot of edible cookie dough recipes that are simply a basic cookie recipe without the eggs and leaveners . I used to think that as long as raw cookie dough was eggless, it would be completely safe, but guess what? Its NOT!

    I learned that consuming raw flour is also unsafe because of dangerous bacteria, so even if your cookie dough has no eggs, you can still get ill because of the flour.

    Thankfully, theres an easy solution! All you need to do is heat treat the flour in the oven to make it perfectly safe for consumption. I baked my flour in the oven at 350°F for 5-10 minutes to kill any of that bacteria before adding it to the rest of my ingredients.

    Grease your pan with nonstick spray before adding the cookie dough so it doesnt stick when removing the springform pan ring.

    To press the cookie dough into the pan, use your fingers to flatten down the bottom into an even layer. Use your fingers to press up the excess cookie dough around the sides. Then use your knuckles to push into the creases to make your crust as straight as possible.

    The pressure from my kids about our food selection when their friends come over makes me laugh. They build up this hype with all their little friends, so proud of their mama making the BEST food ever and being the BEST food blogger. It is so adorable to watch their faces glow talking about my cooking and baking. But it is when they have friends over and they build an epic menu that it get a bit overwhelming.

    This past week my son, Madden had a friend over and they came up with several dessert ideas, this being one of them. We were having some friends over that night, so we decided to go ahead and throw this together. Of course I promised Drew and Madden I would feature it on my blog.

    The oh-no part came when it was dessert time and I realized we had yet to take pictures of this epic dessert. I told Madden we would have to remake it another time and get pictures. He was a bit disappointed. After serving everyone a slice of this ice cream cake, there were 2 pieces left. We had enough to take pictures with the next morning.

    Of course, now you dont get to see the entire cake. At least you have an idea of what it looked like. The most important part you can see which is the layers of dessert decadence. Brownie, chocolate chip cookie dough, and chocolate ice cream drizzled with the best ever hot fudge sauce a combination that cant be beat.

    How To Make Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Cake

    Step 1: Bake cake mix according to package directions for two 9 inch round cakes. Let cool, and remove from pans.

    Step 2: Remove ice cream from the freezer and let it partially thaw .

    Step 3: On a freezer-safe plate, place one 9 inch cake. Measure a piece of wax paper, folded in half, to go around the circumference of the cake and secure in place with tape.

    Doing this will help the cake keep it shape until youre ready to serve. You could also use a springform pan, to hold the shape while it is freezing.

    Step 4: On top of the cake, evenly spread ice cream to the edges, pressing it up against the wax paper.

    Step 5: Crumble two-thirds of the package of cookies, and sprinkle evenly over the ice cream.

    Step 6: Place the second 9 inch cake on top of the cookie crumbs, and press down gently .

    Step 7: Freeze for 2-3 hours, until ice cream can hold its shape.

    Step 8: Before serving, heat chocolate chips and butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until smooth.

    Step 9: Remove wax paper from the cake, then pour chocolate sauce over the top, letting it drip down the sides.

    Step 10: Top cake with remaining chocolate chip cookies, and serve immediately.

    Its the boyfriends birthday, so I made him a happy birthday cake. Hes a classic boy with classic tastes . I however, have been watching a lot of The Great British Bake Off or the Great British Baking Show for people watching on netflix, so I wanted to make something especially elaborate. So I compromised and went with a classic flavor but with a bunch of layers. So chocolate chip cookie dough cake!

    This is a 4 layer brown sugar cake, with two layers of cookie dough frosting, and with a layer of and frosted with whipped cream frosting.

    I made two thin sheet cakes in a 9×13 pan, let it cool and coated one of them with cookie dough frosting.

    Then I stacked the second layer on top of the frosting, and cut the cake in half. Then I made the whipped cream frosting, topped one of the halves with it, and placed the second half on top and coated the whole thing with frosting. And covered the imperfections with mini chocolate chips.

    The cake totally tastes like chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. The brown sugar cake is delicious and light, the cookie dough tastes exactly like cookie dough and the frosting adds a creaminess and a bit of sweet.

    The butter & sugar mixture starts out exactly how you would start a regular chocolate chip cookie recipe. This is because were looking to infuse the flavors of the cookie into the cake layer, so a mix of brown and granulated sugar is ideal here.

    Buttermilk provides an extra layer of tangy flavor to the cake. Additionally, its elevated acidity compared to whole milk tenderizes the gluten in the batter, giving it a softer and more tender texture. If you dont have access to buttermilk, you can substitute with regular milk with a teaspoon of lemon juice.

    Chocolate chips: use whatever kind you want! I saw a pack of mini chocolate chips at the grocery store, and I thought they were adorable. I would avoid using chocolate chunks, though those are better suited for normal cookies rather than cake batter.
