It is great for parties, Birthdays. They have the best cakes and cupcakes. You can get already made cakes. I think most people would love this place.
Came across this bakery while trying to find a place to get my wife a cake for her birthday. When I located this establishment it had a beautiful storefront walking into the store it smelled amazing they had samples of their cakes specializing in aBundt or Bundtlet style cake with their own cream cheese style frosting which is absolutely divine. They have quite a few varieties my personal favorite is there of your red velvet chocolate chip with the icing it is absolutely divine. Ive been able to find locations closer to my side of town forever my side of the country. But a special visit is required every time we head to the west coast.More

Making Charity Part Of Your Corporate Culture
It doesnt matter what your business is at the end of the day, its all about relationships. I was reminded of this yet again over the last few days, watching the devastation of the fires and businesses coming together to support the community, owner of Nothing Bundt Cakes, Mara Fortin tells Giving Back Magazine.
Nothing Bundt Cakes also joined in the effort, sending boxes of cake out to the front lines, to fire and emergency crews, and donating to various YMCAs who offered childcare support to families needing help during the school closures. I am proud to be involved with a company that stands for much more than selling great cakes. We see ourselves as a fixture in the San Diegocommunity, doing our part to make life a little bit better for everyone. Its our corporate culture to give, comments Mara.
Making the corporate culture of charitable giving stay top of mind is somewhat challenging, admits Mara, especially with the explosive growth of their company. In the early years it was just me giving out cake and talking to local charities. We were much smaller and it was easier to manage, recounts Mara. Several years ago, Mara established a partnership with Rady Childrens Hospital and recently, Susan G. Komen of San Diego.
But, at the end of the day, these challenges are very worthwhile. To be in a position to donate to the community on a very regular basis is a huge honor for me personally and for the company, and we will never stop.

I worked here for over a year and have seen most of the good and bad of this company. Overall, it is a great company to work for if you are a college student or looking for a steady part-time job. However, there is little to no growth, they hire most management positions from outside the company and do not value those from within. This caused management to be a bit unorganized at times, causing more stress in the bakery. The location I specifically was at was never fully staffed and people always called out with no repercussions. Most of the employees did not have a sense of professionalism, although there were some who were very respectful and held themselves accountable. The atmosphere of the bakery is very fun and exciting, and the people you meet are great but there are always people that will rain on your parade.
Its a pretty great place to work the people will help you learn and if youre in school they definitely help work with your schedule. I had a great time working their to be honest
The owner expected you to treat the bakery you manage as your own. This includes working 60+ hours/wk and 7 days straight if necessary. You’re not allowed to hire your own staff and it took months for corporate to hire just one lost team member. If equipment broke, it would also take an extended amount of time to fix.

Carmel Valley resident Mara Fortin recently celebrated the 10-year anniversary of her first Nothing Bundt Cakes bakery. Fortin opened her first bakery in Poway in 2007 as the companys first-ever franchisee. Ten years later she owns seven bakeries, including locations in Del Mars Flower Hill Promenade and The Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch in Carmel Valley.
Fortin likes to say she is not in the business of selling cakes but in the business of relationships, of family and celebrations and of people coming together.
After 10 years, were a household name and the go-to place for desserts, Fortin said. Were embedded in peoples lives, were a part of peoples celebrations and remembrances. I love it so much.
Dena Tripp and Debbie Shwetz founded Nothing Bundt Cakes in 1998 in Las Vegas, where Fortin was living at the time and had a very busy life as a medical malpractice attorney. She walked away from the ridiculous hours and began crafting a recipe for a new life in her native San Diego, drawing on her undergraduate degree in business. She convinced the owners to let her be a franchisee.
Fortin vividly remembers being in the parking lot by her new Poway location in 2007 and listening as a couple of men walked by and seemed baffled by her bakery, wondering Only bundt cakes? Thats it? Whats a bundt cake? Many people told her she would be out of business in a year.
