What Really Happened To The Cake Boss?

On Trip Advisor, several visitors to Carlos Bake Shop disclosed their negative experiences. One wrote, I wanted to taste the famous cannoli … What a waste of money. Tasteless filling and the crust was not that good. Another wrote, Ate an eclair and a lobster tail. Both did not taste fresh at all – like they had been on the window for a week.

The Valastro Family Doesnt Care Much For Cake

With a name like Cake Boss, its pretty obvious that the lives of the Valastro Family would revolve around the dessert in question. Even the spin-offs from the series are cake-focused in their own way! Cake is the lifeblood of Carlos Bakery without the cake decorating talents of Buddy and his crew, there would never have even been a show.

The deliciously creative creations of the show have gone on to awe anyone whos stood in their presence on top of providing them with a tasty snack.

However, the Valastros arent really that crazy about cake themselves. Perhaps its because the pastry in question has seemingly taken over their lives, or perhaps they realized a long time ago that you dont make it far in the cake decorating industry when you keep eating your product.

When Buddy was asked by an interviewer what the family was going to be eating for the holidays, he responded by saying that they werent really into cake as a dessert, and preferred things like cannolis and eclairs.

The Real Reason Cake Boss Is No Longer On Tlc

If you’re a fan of baking and like to watch television, chances are you’ve heard of “The Cake Boss,” a popular reality TV series that aired on TLC starting in 2009. The show’s star, Buddy Valastro, has made a true name for himself and the family’s well-known establishment, Carlo’s bakery, through the filming of the show, where he has showcased many elaborate cakes over the years.

While the original Hoboken New Jersey location gained traction from the series, the show spurred the opening of many more Carlo’s locations across the country. Valastro has made it clear time and time again, that his success and fame all began from a long line of family kinship. Before Valastro’s father passed when he was a teenager, he promised his family he was going to work hard to create a successful business out of his family’s strong culinary history.

In 2017, Valastro lost his mother after a long battle with Lou Gerhig’s disease and he needed time and space to mourn her loss. He even closed all Carlo’s Bakery locations worldwide on June 27, 2017, as a day of remembrance . It’s clear that the celebrity baker is a dedicated family man, but that doesn’t explain why the popular show was canceled.

While speaking with Ray, the reality star mentioned that his hand is now 95% healed:

“I’d say we’re about 95 percent, which if that’s as good as it’s going to get Rachael, I’ll take it! And the fact that I’m able to still do what I love, like doing that last season of ‘Buddy vs. Duff,’ it was amazing because of the fact that I could still do it.”

Earlier this year, Buddy Valastro mentioned that he got nearly 75% strength back following his final surgery:

“I’m feeling good. My hand is coming along. I had my fifth surgery about a month ago. Now I definitely have a lot more of my mobility back, so I can make a whole fist, I can make all my fingers straight, and I’ve got about 75% of my strength back.”

Lisa Valastro Doesn’t Like Sharing Her Husband With The Whole Country

Being a world-famous, and beloved, reality star has its perks, but being the partner of one can be challenging. During a chat with Universal.org, via Delish, Lisa Valastro shared, “When we got married, it was just us. Every night, he’d come home and we’d talk.” But, since her husband became the “Cake Boss,” times have changed significantly.

Nowadays, as Lisa detailed, “I share him with millions of people,” which is unfortunately one of the most “stressful” parts of being married to a famous person. Thankfully, whenever Buddy Valastro is home, they make sure to sit down and enjoy dinner together as a family, which is a special time when the six of them can also share stories about their days.

Buddy noted, “Those meals, that family time, are times we’ll never forget.” And, although Lisa’s eggplant Parmesan is a family favorite, we bet Buddy makes sure there’s always a cake or two on hand for dessert, too.

He Fired His Own Sister

‘Cake Boss’ Buddy Valastro Shows Off First Look at Impaled Hand | TMZ

Despite all of the focus on family values and keeping up traditions, family feuds are sometimes unavoidable. After Buddys sister, Mary Sciarrone, couldnt drop the drama, Buddy decided to drop her.

Mary had become notorious for her bluntness and rude interactions with customers and staff alike. Despite Buddys own brashness, he felt that Marys bedside manner was putting his customers off.

Buddy confronted his sister after repeated incidents and eventually gave her the boot. He swore that Mary would never again have the opportunity to manage any of his several bakeries. While things were tense and awkward for viewers and crew alike, the decision to fire Mary was still greeted with favor by fans of the show who had long taken issue with her negative attitude.

In 2013, he opened Buddy V’s Ristorante in Las Vegas. The Italian restaurant now has two more locations in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and McAllen, Texas . When he’s not baking a decadent dessert or a mouthwatering dish, he’s running Cakehouse Media in partnership with television producer Art Edwards.

The two first teamed up to produce “Cake Boss” in 2008 and after much success with the series, launched their own production company in 2014 . They have now produced 12 shows together on Food Network, TLC, Recorde Rede, and YouTube, including “Bake You Rich,” Cooks Vs. Cons,” and of course, “Cake Boss.”

Buddy Valastro also owns his own pet treat and baking items line under the name of Buddy Valastro Foods. The line contains pet treats, as well as non-pet items like cake mix kits, and buttercream icing. The idea for pet treats came when Valastro noticed his family dog, Baci, watching intently as Buddy Valastro whipped up goodies for his wife and kids in their home. He wanted to create treats that would be just as tasty and safe for his pup and started Buddy Valastro Pets, his pet treat line from the company.

All in all, Valastro has kept busy with his businesses we’d say, creating work in multiple industries.
