Nothing Bundt Cakes, a nationwide chain of bundt-cake only bakeries, will open on a new location on Prytania Street. The bakery, on a busy commercial corridor near Upperline Street, replaces a convenience store.
The bakery sells bundt cakes in a variety of flavors in sizes ranging from 10-inch cakes to single-serving “bundtlets” and bite-sized “bundtinis.”
The original Nothing Bundt Cakes opened in Las Vegas in 1997. Now there are locations from coast to coast.

Others, however, believe the popular New Orleans lore, which suggests that an elaborate cake was served with a bean or ring placed inside during the commemoration of the king’s ball in colonial Louisiana. Whoever found the bean or trinket in his or her slice of cake would be crowned the king or queen of the balls leading up to the lavish finale on .
Rather than a bean or expensive ring, the plastic effigy is mostly used today as an emblem of good luck. Though as history would have it, the lucky individual who scores the piece of king cake with the baby inside is said to gain favor, and they’re also tasked with hosting duties and bringing their own king cake for next year’s revelry.

Nothing Bundt Cakes In West Hartford To Give Away Free Cakes
Nothing Bundt Cakes has been in West Hartford for a little over a month, but its parent company was founded in 1997 and is celebrating its 25th birthday.
To mark the occasion, every location of Nothing Bundt Cakes is giving away free miniature cakes to the first 250 customers on Thursday. The cake is a Confetti Bundtlet.
Halky said that the West Hartford store also will offer 25% off all retail products on Thursday.
Traci Halky opened the location at 1481 New Britain Ave., next door to Trader Joes, on July 24. It is the second Nothing Bundt Cakes in the state. The other is in Stamford.
The cake chain also is holding an online contest. One person will win a $25,000 birthday party and 25 runners-up will get a $100 gift card. The store is online at nothingbundtcakes.com.

Community Coffee offers a seasonal Mardi Gras king cake-flavored coffee in 12-ounce bags and single-serve K-cup pods.
The coffee features light vanilla and cinnamon flavors and is available only during the Mardi Gras season each year.
